You may reccognize the above article as very similar to a post I wrote a month or so ago. That's no accident. I submitted our first press release to a free service and have had a few nods. Frankly, I think using a podcast to break into Hollywood is an innovative, if not yet proven successful, idea.
Any journalists out there?
Seriously, I've scoured the web and there are very very few podcast sitcoms. We may not have the highest production values, but free laughs for 5 minutes? There has to be a story somewhere.

This is really the story I would like to see you tell with your podcast, though it may be difficult in the cigar shop venue. What are the pet peeves of non-smokers against smokers and visa versa? There is some potentially funny, yet important stuff here. It's that kind of conflict that can make for some enjoyable and potent script.
My daughter is also an actress and has produced plays and basically been the proverbial "starving actress" in Hollywood for some time now so I know how important it is the break into the business. Best of luck to you in this venture.

My pet peeve about smokers? They smell! - and they think they are so cool!
Breaking into Hollywood isn't easy. You need a great idea and a ton of promotion. Knowing some of the right people helps, because they may know who would be interested.
